Neuklang – Vol. 4 (2014) continues the high-end sampler tradition of the Bauer Studios label, focusing on the refined “New Sound” of European jazz. This volume is particularly noted for its inclusion of Latin-Jazz influences and modern big band compositions, offering a broader dynamic range than the earlier volumes.
Vol. 4 is often used by audiophiles to test rhythmic drive and complex layering. Because Neuklang recordings are “studio-live” (capturing the ensemble playing together in the room), the disc provides an excellent sense of depth and authentic instrument scale.
