Haugaard & Høirup

Haugaard & Høirup are a Danish folk duo formed in 1998, consisting of Harald Haugaard on fiddle/violin and Morten Alfred Høirup on guitar. Harald Haugaard was born in 1975, and Morten Alfred Høirup was born in 1961.

Their music is mainly Danish traditional folk, mixed with original compositions, fiddle tunes, waltzes, polkas, schottisches, and contemporary Nordic folk arrangements. Important albums include Duo For Violin & Guitar, Lys, Om Sommeren, Gæstebud / Feast, and Rejsedage / Travelling.

They are known for bringing Danish folk music to international audiences with a refined violin-and-guitar sound.
