Angelita Li
Angelita Li is appreciated by audiophile jazz listeners because her recordings focus on natural vocal tone, space, phrasing, and acoustic musicianship rather than heavy pop production. Her album Caminhos Cruzados is especially interesting for vocal-jazz fans: it was released on Stunt Records, includes Brazilian/jazz standards such as “Close To You,” “Caminhos Cruzados,” “Good Morning Heartache,” “500 Miles High,” and “Wishing On A Star,” and runs nearly 58 minutes. Her repertoire stretches from jazz to rock to Brazilian music, and her international debut Caminhos Cruzados was recorded in Denmark with Grammy-winning saxophonist/clarinetist Hans Ulrik and guitarist Eugene Pao, giving the music a refined, intimate, high-quality jazz-session character.
