Beoga

Beoga are an Irish folk band from Northern Ireland, formed in 2002. Their music is rooted in traditional Irish folk, but they also mix in modern influences such as jazz, pop, R&B, and contemporary production. Apple Music describes them as a Northern Irish folk outfit who became known internationally through albums like Mischief and The Incident.

Important albums include A Lovely Madness, Mischief, The Incident, How to Tune a Fish, Before We Change Our Mind, Carousel, and Phases. Their official website notes that their latest album Phases was released in 2025 and marks a return to their traditional roots while still exploring new production and instrumentation.

Beoga are especially known for energetic accordion-led Irish folk, strong instrumental musicianship, and a modern “new wave trad” sound. They also gained wider recognition after collaborating with Ed Sheeran on “Galway Girl”, which significantly increased their international visibility.
