City of the Sun is an American instrumental acoustic band from New York City. Their music blends indie rock, acoustic post-rock, flamenco, gypsy jazz, American folk, and blues. Their official website describes the group as an NYC instrumental act formed in 2011, featuring guitarist John Pita and percussionist Zach Para.

They became known through busking in New York and later gained wider attention after performing at a TED conference. Apple Music and Qobuz describe them as a genre-bending acoustic trio whose sound combines indie rock, flamenco, and gypsy jazz.

Important releases include Live at the Factory, To the Sun and All the Cities in Between, City of the Sun, Untitled EP, Máscaras En El Viento, and Under the Moon. Popular tracks include “Everything,” “Firefly,” “Second Sun,” “Perfect Instance,” “No Walls in the West,” “W. 16th St,” “Nascosto Nel Mondo,” and “Angeles.” Deezer lists these tracks and albums on their artist page.

City of the Sun are known for turning acoustic instrumental music into a cinematic, energetic live experience, with Spanish-guitar textures, rhythmic percussion, and a modern post-rock atmosphere.
