Jeanette Lindström is especially admired by audiophiles because her recordings combine intimate vocal detail, spacious production, and sophisticated jazz arrangements with exceptional dynamic range. Albums such as “Feathers.” and “Attitude & Orbit Control” are frequently praised in high-end audio circles for their natural piano tone, airy ambience, and emotionally nuanced vocal presentation. Her collaborations with pianist Steve Dobrogosz and drummer Magnus Öström helped create recordings that reward careful listening on revealing hi-fi systems. Audiophile listeners also appreciate the understated Scandinavian production aesthetic surrounding her music: warm, transparent, and free from excessive compression. Her interpretation of songs like “Both Sides Now” and “The Look of Love” has become particularly popular among listeners who value vocal realism and acoustic purity.

Jeanette Lindström is a Swedish jazz singer, composer, lyricist, and pianist born in Stockholm in 1971 and raised partly in northern Sweden. She emerged in the mid-1990s after winning the prestigious “Jazz in Sweden” award, which led to the release of her debut album “Another Country.” Her music blends vocal jazz, Nordic jazz, contemporary songwriting, folk influences, and subtle elements of art pop and ambient music.

Among her most important albums are:

  • “Another Country” (1995)
  • “I Saw You” (1997)
  • “Feathers.” (2000, with Steve Dobrogosz)
  • “Walk” (2003)
  • “In The Middle Of This Riddle” (2005)
  • “Attitude & Orbit Control” (2009)

Some of her best-known songs and interpretations include:

  • “Both Sides Now”
  • “The Look of Love”
  • “River” (featuring Robert Wyatt)
  • “Moon River”
  • “Queen on the Hillside”

She is known for her expressive phrasing, emotionally intelligent songwriting, and the ability to move effortlessly between classic jazz traditions and modern atmospheric soundscapes. Legendary producer Quincy Jones once described her as “an old soul in a young singer,” a quote that has followed her throughout her international career. Her work has earned critical acclaim across Europe and made her one of the most respected voices in Scandinavian jazz.
