Charlie McGettigan is an Irish singer, songwriter, guitarist, and broadcaster from Ireland. His music is mainly Irish folk, singer-songwriter, and acoustic pop/folk. His official Bandcamp profile describes him as an Irish singer-songwriter, while Apple Music lists his genre as Singer/Songwriter and shows key releases such as The Man from 20, Some Old Someone…, Family Matters, Rock ’N’ Roll Kids, and Tuesdays With Paul.
He is best known internationally for winning the Eurovision Song Contest 1994 with Paul Harrington, performing “Rock ’n’ Roll Kids” for Ireland. The official Eurovision page confirms the artist pairing, song, country, and contest year.
Beyond Eurovision, McGettigan is known for songs such as “Feet of a Dancer,” “Sometimes,” “Another Sad Song,” “Hey Mr Dreamer,” and “Bailieboro and Me.” Stockfisch Records notes that he began his musical career in the 1960s, moved into the Dublin folk scene, and formed the group Jargon in 1973.
