Dali Vol. 2
The DALI CD Vol. 2 is highly recommended if you like audiophile demonstration CDs with real musical variety. It was released in 2009 by DALI, the Danish loudspeaker manufacturer, as a demonstration CD for testing hi-fi systems. Discogs and dealer listings describe it as a DALI demonstration CD with a 32-page booklet and a total playing time of about 75:48.
This album is useful because it is not only “test sound.” It contains enjoyable music from different genres, including acoustic guitar, jazz, vocal, pop and atmospheric recordings. The official DALI Sound Academy describes Vol. 2 as a curated collection of well-known tracks, classics and new musical experiences.
Why you should listen to it:
This is a strong album for checking stereo imaging, vocal clarity, acoustic detail, bass control and rhythm. Tracks by artists such as Antonio Forcione, Josefine Cronholm, Skunk Anansie, Dave Brubeck Quartet and Holly Cole give the album a nice mix of musicality and hi-fi quality.
Best for:
Speaker testing, relaxed audiophile listening, comparing DACs or amplifiers, and discovering how your system handles different recording styles.
My verdict:
A very tasteful and useful demo album. It is less “spectacular” than some pure test discs, but more enjoyable as a real listening album. Recommended for fans of DALI, Stockfisch, Chesky, Telarc, in-akustik and other audiophile compilations.
